Senior Six Students Suspended Indefinitely for Vandalizing Security Cameras at Ntare School
Ntare School in Mbarara City, western Uganda, has suspended all senior six students indefinitely for allegedly vandalizing security cameras on the school premises. In a circular addressed to parents and signed by the head teacher, Mr. Saul Rwampororo, the school’s board of governors will convene to assess the damage and decide on the way forward.
The suspension comes after senior six students were accused of deliberately destroying school property, including recently installed CCTV cameras. The incident of vandalism is reported to have occurred on the previous night. This suspension may disrupt the upcoming national exams scheduled to begin on November 10, 2023.
The reasons behind the students’ actions remain unclear, as school administrators have not disclosed the motives. The police were called in to escort the students off the school premises and maintain order. Ntare School is known for its academic excellence and has produced prominent figures, including Presidents Yoweri Museveni and Paul Kagame.
